Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi

The Order of Secular Franciscans of the St. John Capistrano Fraternity is a group of lay men and women, young, old, married and unmarried, who follow the rule of St. Francis of Assisi according to their state in life. This group is officially recognized in the life of the Church under the title of “public associations of Christ’s faithful.” It is a recognized Canonical Order of the Church.

This year, on Tuesday October 3rd all members of the Franciscan communities, including Secular Franciscans, celebrate the Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi. This event commemorates St. Francis’ death and his birth into eternal life. This celebration of remembrance will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer. All are invited and are welcome, it lasts approximately one hour.
